In this independent film directed by Michael Brandt, (one of the nicest directors ever) I play Senator Darden. It stars Richard Gere as a retired CIA operative who joins a young FBI agent played by Topher Grace to uncover a senator’s murder. (Yes, I die in yet another movie.) The main suspect is a Soviet assassin who was long thought to be dead. The film also stars Martin Sheen (My fellow SAG Board National Director) as the CIA director, “Castle” star Stana Katic as a Russian prostitute who holds key information to the case, and “Cloverfield” star Odette Yustman as Grace’s character’s wife. “True Blood’s” Stephen Moyer plays a Russian spy. The film was backed by Hyde Park Entertainment. Michael Brandt also wrote and directed “Wanted” as well as “3:10 to Yuma”. The script for “The Double” was co-written by Brandt and Derek Haas.
